Acrylic paintings:
SEE THE LIGHT, a series of paintings (2017- 2019) with more than 50 acrylic, water color, and ink paintings on different sizes of canvas and paper. I started by experimenting with different mediums and surfaces, like using Japanese ink, rice paper, different kinds of paper and Japanese techniques of painting, while trying out some ideas generated from landscape as an example.
“See the Light”, is concerned with color and simplification of shapes and forms with the use of minimal details. The main idea behind this project is to believe that, no matter how dark a situation is, there must be light some where at some pint in time, you just have to find it!
So I suggest, when looking at the paintings, to observe the "light" to fully enjoy the paintings, not to marvel only on the black areas, even though the contrast is a key element in building these paintings!
