Acrylic paintings:
SEE THE LIGHT, a series of paintings, painted from 2017- 2019, with more than 50 acrylic, water color, and ink paintings on different sizes of canvas and different kinds of paper. I started by experimenting with mediums and surfaces, for example like using Japanese ink, rice paper, Japanese techniques of painting, while trying out some ideas generated from landscape as a point of reference.
“See the Light”, visually, concerned with color and abstracted shapes and forms with the use of minimal details, and high contrast. In this body of work, I'm expressing my deep belief that no matter how dark a situation is, there must be light somewhere at some point in time, you just have to (see) to find it!
So I suggest, when looking at the paintings, to observe the "light" to fully enjoy the paintings, not to marvel only at the black areas, even though the contrast is a key element in building these paintings!
